Dr. Francois Botha

Registered Psychologist

I am registered as a Psychologist in British Columbia and completed my doctoral degree at Western University. My pre-doctoral residency was with Vancouver Coastal Health. I have worked in various inpatient and outpatient settings and with disorders and concerns of varying complexity.

There are three areas that I have predominantly focused on over the last seven years. Adults with ADHD continue to exercise various difficulties in life, and I have worked with such individuals on planning, organizing, reducing distraction, communication difficulties, and managing emotions. Clients I have treated have often had substance use problems in addition to their other mental health concerns. My focus is to work on these conditions together rather than as separate concerns. Finally, I have frequently worked with people experiencing anxiety in social situations or when required to perform at work or school.

My primary approach is from a cognitive-behavioural perspective, but I integrate many elements and skills from acceptance-based and dialectical therapies. My work with clients often involves a focus on values, meaning, and enhancing strengths.
